GENERAL WELL PERSON PROFILE (BASIC)
It is a package of blood screening tests that everyone should have once a year in order to monitor their health. The tests performed in this basic package allow for the general assessment of the patient’s wellbeing and the functioning of their various internal organs such as liver, kidneys, bone marrow. Tests also give information about the metabolism of cholesterol and glucose. Abnormal tests results might be the first indication of some illnesses like diabetes, anaemia, arterial disease, as well as, a sign of inflammation, infection or tumour.
The profile includes the following tests:
Urea and Electrolytes: sodium, potassium, chloride, bicarbonate, urea, creatinine, eGFR
Liver Function Tests: bilirubin, Alk Phos, AST, ALT, gamma GT, total Protein, albumin, globulin
Cardiac/Muscle Enzymes: LDH, CK
Bone Markers: calcium, phosphate, uric acid Glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, iron, total iron binding, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, Non-HDL cholesterol
